It's been awhile since I reminded everyone that Jennifer Niven's YA debut, All the Bright Places needs to be on your January to-be read list. GUYS, I'M NOT KIDDING. If you like contemporary YA in the slightest, this book is for you. Even if you don't normally read YA, I think this book is for you. All the Bright Places even landed the #1 spot on the Winter Kids' Indie Next List - check it out:

Wow. After reading the synopsis of this book, I can see how it'd be a very important book to have on hand, particularly if taught with Thirteen Reasons Why or If I Stay. Depression is an issue that affects teens and yet is marginalized or written off due to hormones. Perhaps, with All the Bright Places, teens will see themselves as either Violet or Finch and then be able to gain the help they need, as well as understand that they are not alone.
