YA Dystopian Reading Challenge!


For all you fans of YA Dystopian novels, Bart of Bart's Bookshelf is hosting a reading challenge. The challenge starts October 15th and ends at the start of 2010. The goal is to read 1 to 4 YA Dystopian novels in that time span.

Not sure what Dystopia is?
Dystopia (from the Greek δυσ- and τόπος, alternatively, cacotopia, kakotopia, cackotopia, or anti-utopia) is the vision of a society in which conditions of life are miserable and characterized by poverty, oppression, war, violence, disease, pollution, nuclear fallout and/or the abridgement of human rights, resulting in widespread unhappiness, suffering, and other kinds of pain.   1. I love dystopian lit. If you're going to do this, you should definitely check out Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking series (so far, The Knife of Never Letting Go and The Ask and the Answer). Really, really good. And of course, The Hunger Games is A-MAZING. Feed is really neat too, but takes some getting used to. But it's funny/creepy, which I like; it's all about consumerism taken to its ultimate conclusion.
